There is an interesting article in the September 2014 issue of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery - the definitive journal for our surgical specialty.

A group of British surgeons did photographic analysis of the 'ideal' breast using computer 'morphed' images. The group looked at morphed photographs of a small, medium, large and 'very large' breast size. 

The most aesthetically pleasing breast shape was found to be characterized by 45:55 ratio of upper to lower pole volume, a 'flat' upper pole slope and a smoothly convex lower pole shape. This aesthetic ideal was consistent between reviewers who were plastic surgeons, non-surgeons, and across various cultural and ethnic groups.
