Rhinoplasty and septoplasty for Seattle patients
Rhinoplasty is a procedure designed to address cosmetic issues of the nose: reduction of the 'bridge' of the nose, refinement of the tip of the nose, improvement of the shape of the alar rims etc.
Septoplasty is a component of a rhinoplasty operation in some patients. The septoplasty procedure can be used to straighten the septum, to improve airflow in the inside passages of the nose, and as a source of supportive 'graft' material for use in other part of the nose.
A rhinoplasty surgery is cosmetic, and thus is not covered by insurance policies. The septoplasty procedure is sometimes a 'functional' procedure, and can be covered by some insurance policies.
At Sound Plastic Surgery, we offer both cosmetic rhinoplasty and functional septoplasty procedures that can be done at the same surgery, using a single anesthetic event.
