Fat Transfer for Facial Volume

Fat transfer injections, otherwise known as fat grafting injections, use a specialized liposuction and injection technique to restore volume to the cheeks, regions around the eyes and the lips. Fat transfer procedures have become an important cosmetic procedure in Dr. Sattler's Seattle area cosmetic surgery clinic. 

The fat transfer procedure allows Dr. Sattler to volumize and restore youthful contours to the face. The technique involves removing some fat from the belly or flank regions, processing that fat, and then carefully injecting the purified fat in regions of the face to restore volume.  A portion of the injected fat becomes a living and natural filler.

We have observed dramatic improvements in facial volume and significant youthful improvement of photo-damaged and wrinkled facial skin overlying the regions of the face that have received fat grafting.

The fat grafting procedure can be done in the office, as a quick outpatient procedure under local anesthesia. Fat transfer injections are also done during face lift and eyelid lift surgery with Dr. Sattler. 

Patients that have experienced the benefits of Juvederm, Radiesse, Sculptra and other facial fillers often desire a filler that is more natural and long-lasting. For these patients, fat transfer injections has become "the ultimate filler." Fat transfer injections have been an important part of our facial injection practice because the technique allows us to place exactly as much volume as an individual patient needs. For large volume facial volumization, fat grafting is more cost-effective than temporary facial fillers like Voluma and Sculptra. Our fat transfer patients benefit from the long-term volumization from autologous fat injections.
